Jamal Adams needed stitches after cutting strawberries
By Mike Luciano
A produce mishap forced Jamal Adams to miss practice.
The Seattle Seahawks invested a lot in Jamal Adams, as they flipped several premium draft picks to the New York Jets in exchange for the man who might be the best safety in the league. While the Seahawks were relieved to learn that their star acquisition’s injury that kept him out of practice wasn’t anything overly serious, they might start snickering when they hear how Adams sustained his hand injury.
Pete Carroll confirmed that Adams sliced up a part of his hand while slicing strawberries. While the injury isn’t thought to be anything that will sideline him during the season, he was held out of practice as a precaution.
When Ronnie Lott did it, it felt a little bit more manly than when Adams messed up his hand.
Jamal Adams is making his presence felt at Seahawks practice
Adams recorded an astounding 6.5 sacks last season, picking off one pass and totaling 75 tackles during his final year with the Jets. Ultimately, disillusionment with Jets coach Adam Gase prompted a trade. He did miss two games last year due to injury, but his injury wasn’t fruit-related.
Viewing Adams as the missing piece their defense needed to reach elite status, the Seahawks flipped two first-round picks and safety Bradley McDougald in exchange for the All-Pro defensive back. While his versatility and athleticism will be the most noticeable impact he’ll make on the field for Ken Norton’s defense, his fiery style of leadership in the locker room could have the Seattle defense playing at a level they haven’t seen since the Legion of Boom days.
Russell Wilson and the Seahawks once again have championship aspirations in 2020, and Adams is a huge reason as to why. Hopefully he learns better knife safety techniques and doesn’t have to miss any more time with injuries sustained in the kitchen.
