Georgia visit makes impact on 5-star DE Korey Foreman, nation’s No. 1 player
Will Korey Foreman, the No. 1 ranked player for the 2021 class, end up playing for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs?
Last weekend, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs played host to inarguably the most sought-after recruit in the country: Korey Foreman. The 5-star defensive end, ranked the top overall player in the country by multiple recruiting services, tripped to Athens to check out the campus.
While Foreman didn’t commit to Georgia, which was expected, there’s no doubt his recent unofficial visit made quite the impact on his recruitment going forward.
Once a Clemson verbal pledge, Foreman decommitted and now has just about every powerhouse in the country trying to woo him. The Bulldogs have made it clear to him they want him to suit up for them.
Korey Foreman is closing in on 30 offers and has several SEC teams hoping to land his services
Throughout his recruitment, the 6-foot-4, 265-pound Foreman has picked up 27 scholarship offers. Schools to put tenders on the table include Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, USC, LSU, Auburn, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon and many others.
Adding Foreman at some point down the road to Georgia’s 2021 commitment list would be a massive recruitment victory. Out of Centennial High in California, Foreman said he’s hoping to take some more visits before he ends up making his final decision.
He’s yet to trip to LSU, but has plans to do that soon. Similarly to Smart, Ed Orgeron has let Foreman know how badly he wants him. Right now, though, it looks like the Bulldogs have made quite the impact on the elite prospect.
As of this writing, Georgia holds 14 commits for ’21, which has them ranked fifth in the SEC and 12th in the country per 247Sports. Only time will tell if Foreman ends up joining the list.
