LSU football players lead a march on campus on Friday afternoon to stand against racism and inequality in the wake of social unrest after the Jacob Blake shooting.
LSU joined Ole Miss and Mississippi State football players among the SEC teams who have organized a march of unity amid the social and racial unrest following the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha by police.
Players from All-American receiver Ja’Marr Chase, starting quarterback Myles Brennan and team leader JaCoby Stevens all took part in the peaceful protest.
LSU football players marched in solidarity and were supported by university president Tom Galligan and head coach Ed Orgeron

Coach O heard us and is here for us. He has never heard or experienced the things that we told him that we deal with on the daily. So for him it was A LOT. And that’s ok. At least he’s willing to have the conversation with us.

“We decided we needed to do something so we decided to come to Tiger Stadium and walk to the president’s office,” Stevens told reporters after the march. “I felt like that walk has a lot more meaning than people actually see. Going to our place of business, our place of comfort in Tiger Stadium all the way to the president’s office to have some type of conversation, I think that means a lot.”
