7. Noah Igbinoghene – Youngest Player to Record a Pick-6

Current Record Holder: DeAngelo Hall (21 years, 44 days), 2005

Admittedly, this one is a longshot. Interceptions returns for touchdowns are not effortless football plays to come by. Yet, in this scenario, some potential aspects of the record-breaking may align.

Foremost, Noah Igbinoghene is just 20 years old. He will not turn 21 until late November. Theoretically, if Igbinoghene snatched an interception and takes it back the distance for six points, he will become the holder of this record. He will not hit DeAngelo Hall’s record-making age until January 10th, 2021. Ergo, Igbinoghene has a full slate of 16 games, barring injury, to wiggle this record away from Hall.

If you’re asking yourself, “Who the hell is Noah Igbinoghene?” — it is a fair question. He is brand new to the business and was the 30th overall draft pick by the Miami Dolphins in the 2020 NFL Draft. He made the cut for this analysis because he will probably start for the Dolphins at the cornerback position this season. Or at the very least, he will receive ample playing time in Miami’s rebuilding defense.

At Auburn University, Igbinoghene was a playmaker. He returned two kick returns for touchdowns during these years. Because of his playing-time prognosis and dynamic ability to make plays, he just might take down Hall’s record.
