Dodgers ‘quietly’ trying to build unstoppable rotation at trade deadline
The Dodgers are looking like serious World Series contenders and they could get ever stronger if they acquire hurler Lance Lynn.
Thus far in 2020, the Los Angeles Dodgers have once again been among the best teams in Major League Baseball, showcasing incredible talent at the plate, in the field and with some dominant pitching.
But, could the team end up getting even stronger? With the MLB Trade Deadline right around the corner, several teams have reached out to the Texas Rangers with interest in acquiring veteran pitcher Lance Lynn.
Per a report, the Dodgers have now entered the race to land Lynn. Could LA somehow get even better before September arrives?
Could Lance Lynn end up landing with the LA Dodgers?
Clayton Kershaw headlines the Dodgers’ rotation, but adding Lynn to the mix of things would surely instill some fear into opposing teams and their lineups. Lynn alone is a frightening presence on the mound, as he checks in at 6-foot-5, 250 pounds.
This year for the Rangers, the hard-throwing righty is 4-0 with a 1.59 ERA in seven starts. Those are the kinds of stats that have him as one of the more popular trade targets leading up to the deadline. On Saturday alone, the Padres and Dodgers have thrown their hats into the ring.
The Rangers are 12-19 on the year and won’t be playing in the postseason. For them to trade Lynn now and get some valuable assets for the future would make sense. However, since he could be such a key pitcher for a team in their quest of playing for the World Series, you better believe Texas will have a high asking price.
With only a few more days before the deadline, teams will be working overtime to try and get Lynn in their jersey. Will it end up being the Dodgers?
