NBA DFS picks August 29: Are three heads better than one?

This is going to be roughly the same as the article I had laid out for Wednesday before the NBA used their incredible visibility to make a statement. It was a powerful and peaceful protest, so I applaud the players for speaking out.

Basketball does seem less important at a time like this, but it is also a welcome distraction. These guys are still fighting for a championship. Six teams are in action today with Orlando and Portland facing eviction from the bubble. Some injuries are still lingering, so let’s check those first.

Out: Damian Lillard (knee), Aaron Gordon (hamstring), Jonathan Isaac (knee), Michael Carter-Williams (foot), Zach Collins (ankle), Rajon Rondo (back), Mo Bamba (coronavirus).

Questionable: none

LeBron and A.D. have carried questionable tags throughout the bubble, so it’s no surprise that they are listed as such here. However, without Lillard, Portland is going to have trouble keeping up. I’m fading both Lakers stars here. They are going to rest if the game gets out of hand again.

We no longer have to wonder about the status of Aaron Gordon since he left the bubble. That makes Orlando value relatively safe again. However, we’ve seen that backfire a couple of times in this series.

My builds today look a lot different than the ones I had in for Wednesday. A lot of that has to do with the return of Westbrook. I also think the Bucks are going to be hyped up for this one. That makes me leery of riding Orlando value.
