Cody Bellinger, Dodgers set new home run record on path to World Series bid.
Cody Bellinger just delivered the Los Angeles Dodgers a new record on Sunday. Bellinger’s two-run dinger marked home run number 57 for the team for the month of August. That’s more than any other National League team has ever hit in one month.
So, you’re saying the Dodgers are quite good this season?
Watch the moment here.
The previous record of 56 was set by the Atlanta Braves in June 2019. This marks Bellinger’s 10th homer for the season, so far.
Cody Bellinger wasn’t the only Dodger with a homer on Sunday
It wasn’t just Bellinger hitting homers on Sunday though. His teammates Corey Seager and Will Smith each added one in the second inning. Smith’s was an impressive 439-foot homer that landed in the second deck.
The Dodgers are the only team in MLB to have not lost a single series this season and they’ve secured their three-game series with the Texas Rangers having already won the first two and are set to sweep the third.
On Saturday Bellinger hit another home run off a trade prospect, which was fun in itself.
