Here’s how you can watch Oklahoma football’s opener vs. Missouri State on pay-per-view
Oklahoma Sooners fans will be able to watch their Week 1 showdown against Missouri State for a cool $54.95.
The wait is almost over for Big 12 football to get back in everyone’s lives. For the Oklahoma Sooners, their 2020 campaign will begin on Sept. 12 with a showdown against Missouri State in Norman.
While the Oklahoma Memorial Stadium will be limited to 25 percent capacity for the season, that doesn’t mean not everyone will be able to watch Lincoln Riley’s team try and win another conference championship.
For all the other Sooners fans out there who want to watch the Missouri State showdown, the game will be available via pay-per-view for you to watch. It will cost $54.95 to check out Oklahoma in its season-opener. This is not a new thing for Oklahoma, although it is not normal, the contract with Sooner Sports and Fox Sports results in this being the only way to watch.
These TV carriers will carry the pay-per-view broadcast for fans to order, but DISH and Sling will not be able to offer the pay-per-view broadcast. Nor will it be available on the SoonerSports Roku app due to Roku’s in-app purchasing requirements, the school announced. However, the PPV will be available to watch through SoonerSports.tv and the SoonerSports apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Amazon Fire and Android. You can order the pay-per-view here.
The season-opener vs. Missouri State will mark the first career start for former five-star quarterback Spencer Rattler
As is always the case in early September, there’s plenty of excitement surrounding the Oklahoma program right now. While former starter Jalen Hurts is now in training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles, the expectations are lofty for Spencer Rattler.
The former top quarterback recruit is set to take over the reins of the offense and has received loads of praise from Riley since the moment he first hit the practice field for the team. Rattler, who checks in at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, appeared in three games last year as the backup to Hurts.
In 2019, Rattler threw for 81 yards and one touchdown in his limited time under center. Now, the signal-caller will be ready to let if fly in Riley’s system as the starter.
We’re less than two weeks away from Oklahoma’s season kicking off. We’ll see what Rattler and the rest of the team can put together in 2020.
