The legendary voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Vin Scully, has finally joined Twitter.
Once the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Day and our calendars switched to 2020, we all thought this was the year where everything would go our way. Unfortunately, we didn’t have such luck. The coronavirus pandemic, racial tensions and a volatile presidential election have flooded our social media timelines, leaving many individuals wary of logging on to their accounts.
But, have no fear, because Vin Scully, the voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers, is now on Twitter! After creating his account this weekend, Scully made his first introduction to the Twitter world, expressing that he looks forward to chatting with everyone about his favorite subject: baseball.
You better behave in Scully’s mentions
As Scully mentions in the clip, he’s not going to talk about anything controversial. Rather, his journey through Twitter is all about “meeting with friends.” So, you all better behave and keep the toxicity out of his comments section!
This past weekend, Scully announced that he’s not only joining Twitter but Facebook and Instagram as well, with the launch date scheduled for Wednesday. Additionally, Scully will have his own YouTube channel and his own website, where the latter will launch in October.
What a time for Scully to hop into the social media world. The Dodgers are arguably the best team in all of MLB. They have a 27-10 record as of this writing and have won eight of their last 10 games. The acquisition of Mookie Betts has paid dividends, and the Dodgers are easily rolling to a postseason berth.
Scully may be in retirement, but he’s using his platform to share his legendary stories with baseball fans around the world. Come on, who doesn’t want to sit under the Scully learning tree? Now, Twitter needs to get this legend the verified blue checkmark.
