Fantasy Football Sleepers 2020: Giants WR Darius Slayton
Darius Slayton could separate himself as an elite option for the New York Giants.
Ahead of the biggest draft weekend in Fantasy Football, this presents a great time to look at some of the best fantasy football sleepers for later on in your draft. A lot of hype this season is going around the New York Giants offense, more specifically quarterback Daniel Jones who has a chance to break out into one of the best in fantasy. Something notable, however, is who Jones could pick out as his favorite wide receiver of his very talented three. That’s where Darius Slayton comes in, who can be one of the best fantasy football sleepers of the season.
Slayton almost came out of nowhere last season midseason when he began to really be trusted by Jones as injuries to his receivers pushed Slayton into a bigger role. Week 8 of the 2019 season was a peek at how good Slayton really can be as he recorded a 10 catch, 121 yards, 2 touchdown performance. As a rookie who was as highly touted out of college as the likes of Marquis Brown, this was a huge performance and showed his massive future as the hopeful red zone target for the Giants moving forward.
Slayton’s final statistics for the Giants were as followed: 48 catches, 740 yards, and 8 touchdowns. An impressive showing as he was No. 3 on the depth chart for most of the season. As we await 2020, expect Slayton to be a regular FLEX wide receiver who has a massive chance to boom into a weekly WR2. Considering his overall ADP of 112 on the board, you are only taking him as a WR3 or more than likely 4 at the most. That instantly makes him one of the fantasy’s best sleepers moving forward.
The Giants are going to be a very different team this season under new offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, so expect them to be not only better than last year but perhaps one of the best to have a piece of in fantasy football.
