Jadeveon Clowney is not answering back to interested NFL teams.

The biggest free agent still on the market by a considerable margin is Jadeveon Clowney, a former All-Pro who spent last season with the Seattle Seahawks. Desperate to both win a championship and get around $20 million per season for his services, Clowney remains unemployed, and that might be due to his own lack of engagement.

Per Yahoo’s Charles Robinson, the Tennessee Titans have been frustrated by Clowney not responding to their requests to get him in for a physical. Clowney will likely head to either Tennessee or Seattle, as he turned down a huge contract from the Cleveland Browns.

Clowney made the Pro Bowl in each of his final three seasons with the Houston Texans, but he mustered just three sacks during his first season with the Seahawks. That dip in production can be attributed to the fact that he had one of the highest double team rates in the league. Even with that, his pressure rate was the second-highest of his career. 

While the Seahawks are willing to bring him back for a discounted price, Clowney doesn’t seem interested. The Titans seem like a logical fit given their scheme, cap space, and need at the position, but nothing much has materialized between Mike Vrabel and Clowney. Even if he’s in great shape, Clowney’s market is starting to dry up.

Clowney is one of the game’s best pass rushers, even if his production last year didn’t reflect that, but a stubborn desire to get what he believes is market value for his services might end up with him sitting out a good chunk of the season. Unless some team gets desperate, there is a very good chance Clowney watches the season at home on TV like the rest of us.
