Joel Kiviranta’s overtime goal sends the Dallas Stars to the Western Conference Finals.

Joel Kiviranta replaced the injured Andrew Cogliano and in only his third postseason game, netted a hat trick with the game-winner in overtime of Game 7 to etch his name in Dallas Stars immortality.

He only played in 11 games this regular season and only had one goal, but he’ll forever be remembered for his Game 7 heroics no matter what happens the rest of his NHL career.

The undrafted free agent allowed Stars fans to breathe again when it looked like the Stars would miss their opportunity to put away Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche.

Dallas advances to their first conference finals since 2008.

Alexander Radulov had the other two goals for the Stars who advanced with the 5-4 overtime win.

The Stars await the winner of the Vegas Golden Knights-Vancouver Canucks series, with Game 7 coming up Friday night.

If the Stars celebration has stopped by then, you can expect a few of them to be watching the outcome so they have a mental leg-up on their next opponent as they try to advance to the Stanley Cup Final.
