Korey Forman is set to visit LSU. Can the Tigers manage a recruiting upset?

LSU sits third in 2021 recruiting rankings already. They’re looking to get even better.

No. 1 overall recruit Korey Foreman is expected to visit LSU this weekend, according to 247Sports.

Does that mean the Tigers have a chance to pull the five-star defensive end out of California?

LSU is trying to enter the discussion for Korey Foreman.

Foreman originally committed to Clemson at the start of the year, but he decommitted from Dabo Swinney’s class in April. Since then, USC has had the inside track for his potential commitment. The Trojans currently hold the advantage in 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions.

However, the local team will have quite a challenge keeping the Corona Centennial product around Southern California. Recently, 247Sports national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins dropped a prediction for Georgia.

While Georgia has tried to move in on Foreman, LSU has its own hopes. In July, Foreman included Ed Orgeron’s Tigers in his Top 7 along with USC, Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, Oregon and Howard.

Foreman is friends with four-star outside linebacker Raesjon Davis from Mater Dei, who is already committed to LSU. He is also close with four-star defensive tackle Maason Smith, who is projected to land with the Tigers. Foreman has talked about wanting to play in college with both Davis and Smith.

At 6-foot-4 and 265 pounds, Foreman has been rated as the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2021 in the 247Sports composite thanks to his potential as a defensive end, with strength and speed in equal measure.

He had 32 total tackles and five sacks in eight games tracked on MaxPreps from 2019. His junior season was cut short by an injury, otherwise he might have produced much more than that.

Foreman has stated his intention to enroll in the spring, giving programs pursuing him a narrowing window of time to make an impression.
