Are banks closed on Labor Day?
Banking is a crucial aspect of most American lives throughout the year. Sometimes you need loans, deposit checks, or discuss account issues with someone at your back. They’re a vital part of the American experience but they’re not always open. So if you’re in need of doing some banking inside, can you do so on Labor Day?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. As Labor Day is a federal holiday, no bank is open on Labor Day and any business that you may have had or needed to address with a bank employee will simply have to wait until Tuesday.
All banks will be observing the holiday, so plan your Monday accordingly.
Yet, if you’re in need of depositing money into your account or maybe you need to pull funds out in order to pay for something, or to lend someone cash for something, will you be able to do that? Yes, if your bank has a walk-up or drive-up ATM then you’ll still be able to use that on Labor Day.
So if you’re going someplace that only accepts cash, then you’ll be able to get in no problem this Labor Day. Just remember that if you go out on Labor Day, or if you go to the bank the Tuesday after, wear a mask, practice social distancing and treat everyone inside with respect. You might find yourself waiting in line for some time, so give yourself ample time to spend at the bank if you do indeed go on Tuesday.
