Trevor Lawrence reveals plan of action for college athletes to fight racial injustice

Trevor Lawrence has a plan to fight against racial injustice in America.
Trevor Lawrence has emerged as the voice for college football’s fight against social injustice.
The Clemson Tigers quarterback is the best player in the country. At 6-foot-6 and with a howitzer of a right arm, he will be the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, assuming he foregoes his senior year at Clemson University. As the best player on the best team, he is a leader among leaders. Here he is tweeting out college football players’ action plan to fight racial injustice in America.
What does the college football players’ plan of action fully entail?
Outlined in the player’s message is a “5-point plan of actionable steps to create real change.” Those five points include having each player registered to vote and able to vote on Nov. 3, open discussions with university presidents to bring awareness to racial injustice issues and using their platform on game days to bring awards to these issues on shirts, helmet decals and jerseys.
None of these demands are out of bounds. It’s in the vein of what professional sports leagues in the United States are doing these days, especially down in the Orlando bubble for the 2020 NBA playoffs. While these are amateur athletes we’re talking about in college, this football-crazed country of ours views college football as its second most popular sport after only the NFL.
What’s cool about this is it’s all the college football players coming together to do something bigger and more important than themselves. To have a marquee star, even if it is for just one more season, like Lawrence to be essentially their mouthpiece, their message is read loud and clear. When a sport’s best player wants to make a difference, then a difference will inevitably be made.
Lawrence and every college football player must be proud of their well-thought-out plan of action.
