Each week we will bring you five breakout stars to pick up each week.

5. Allen Lazard, WR, Green Bay Packers

Roster %: ESPN 24.5%

Last year, Allen Lazard saw his role jump from what he was asked to do in 2018. After playing in just one game in his rookie year, he played in 16 with three starts in 2019.

It wasn’t until around Week 6 that Lazard was forced to take on a more involved role due to injuries. He flashed some promise going for over 40+ receiving yards seven times, 60+ three times, and had a career-high 103 against the New York Giants.

Lazard assumed the No. 2 role at times last year. This year, since the team did not draft or sign a receiver like most thought they would, he seems to be locked into that same role behind Davante Adams to at least start this season.

The bulk of the production on the offensive side of the ball comes from the running backs the Packers have. However, Adams will receive quite a bit of attention on his side, meaning there will be targets for others. Specifically, Lazard.

Lazard will not be a volume pass catcher. However, he still received anywhere from four to nine targets a game at his peak usage, and he averaged over 13 yards per grab.

Week 1, the Packers take on the Minnesota Vikings. This will be a battle against a strong defense, but Lazard could go for some big gains if Aaron Rodgers can establish the play action with attention on Adams.
