Chiefs rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire scored his first NFL touchdown
The Clyde Edwards-Helaire hype train is already chugging along at full speed.
All it took was one game for the rookie out of LSU to justify his first-round selection by the Chiefs as he broke loose for a 27-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
Edwards-Helaire boosted his rushing total on the night to 102 yards with the run, which featured a broken tackle and a devastating juke.
The Chiefs want to know what the rookie’s emoji should be? The lightning bolt could work after that run.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire was the best running back in the 2020 Draft. And he looks like it too.
College football fans will remember Edwards-Helaire’s outstanding contributions to the LSU Tiger offense during their 2019 national title run. While Joe Burrow was becoming a household name, the running back kept LSU ticking over on the ground as well.
As a junior, Edwards-Helaire rushed for 1,414 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Edwards-Helaire was the only running back selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, dropping all the way to No. 32 where the Chiefs had their pick.
Talk about the rich getting richer. The explosive Kansas City offense had the best running back in the draft fall right into their lap late in the first round.
