Ian Book shows off new-look Notre Dame football jerseys (Photo)
Notre Dame football jerseys will have a new look when the Fighting Irish take the field this year and quarterback Ian Book gave fans the first look.
The 2020 college football season is going to be a weird and unique season for myriad reasons.
One of those reasons is Notre Dame football has actually joined a conference, albeit on a one-year exemption due to the scheduling restrictions imposed as a result of the delayed start to the season due to COVID-19.
With the ACC opening their arms to Notre Dame football this season, the Notre Dame football jerseys have a different look this year. And for die-hard and long-time Fighting Irish fans, it’s going to be a shock to the eyes and may take all season to get used to it.
Quarterback and team captain Ian Book unveiled the new-look Notre Dame jerseys on his Instagram stories on Thursday afternoon.
The new-look Notre Dame football jerseys will take some getting used to.
If there were any more patches, it would look closer to a NASCAR rig with all the advertisements and logos going on.
The first and most glaring is the inclusion of the ACC patch. Kudos to the ACC for making sure they got that added without any delay and maximizing their one shot at this. The Rally patch signifies the service that grants fans the ability to pay to watch games with other fans and celebrities.
Book, as pointed out, thinks the jerseys are beautiful, but I’m willing to bet some Notre Dame fans won’t agree with their starting quarterback. But they can agree they are excited to see the uniforms on the field when Notre Dame begins their season on Saturday as they host the Duke Blue Devils.
Fans can see the new jerseys on NBC with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT from Notre Dame Stadium.
