Notre Dame vs. Duke: Odds, TV channel, Reddit stream, prediction
Notre Dame football opens their ACC season at home against Duke on Saturday and here’s all you need to watch the Fighting Irish vs. Blue Devils.
No longer proudly independent for the 2020 season, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are part of the ACC this year and they open up their schedule with a dose of that on Saturday, welcoming the Duke Blue Devils to South Bend. But while joining the ACC may help their College Football Playoff chances, they have some questions early in the year.
One of those questions is not quarterback Ian Book, who is back for another year at the helm of the offense. He’s going to be tasked with carrying that unit, though, as the skill position groups have seen a massive amount of turnover from last year. The same is true for the defense, which lost almost all of their key playmakers on the line and in the secondary. Book and a stout offensive line will need to be the driving force behind their success in 2020.
As for Duke, their prospects aren’t necessarily high this year but they do have some upside with Clemson transfer Chase Brice taking over at quarterback. He’s not Trevor Lawrence but he’s flashed some potential and should stabilize an offense that was anything but last year. Chris Rumph is also a sack machine on defense but his impact may be neutralized in South Bend.
How to watch Notre Dame-Duke and bet on Saturday’s game at Notre Dame Stadium

Time: 2:30 p.m. ET
Location: Notre Dame Stadium – South Bend, IN
TV Info: NBC
Odds: Notre Dame -20.5, O/U 53.5 (via Action Network)

Prediction: Outside of Book and the offensive line, there aren’t a ton of reasons to be completely sold yet on the Fighting Irish. Them being favored by over 20 points is a bit rich for my blood because of the uncertainty on defense and with the skill position players on offense.
That being said, Duke is inferior in terms of talent, which matters in this type of matchup after this unprecedented offseason. Brice will have some moments and put up some points but Notre Dame will still come out on top in relatively decisive fashion, even if they don’t cover the spread.
Score: Notre Dame 40, Duke 24
