Oklahoma vs. Missouri State: Odds, TV info, live stream, prediction
Oklahoma football kicks off their 2020 season with a tune-up against Missouri State and here’s all the info you need to watch the Sooners vs. Bears matchup.
Lincoln Riley enters uncharted territory for Oklahoma football in the 2020 season and not just because of the shortened schedule as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, he must break in a new quarterback that he recruited as redshirt freshman Spencer Rattler, a former 5-star recruit, takes over the offense and tries to live up to a legacy of Heisman-caliber quarterbacks in Norman.
Oklahoma’s 2020 season kicks off at home with their one game outside of the Big 12 on the schedule, welcoming the Missouri State Bears to Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium on Saturday night. The Bears have a familiar face on the sidelines in Bobby Petrino but the Division II program went just 1-10 last season and, even if they improve, they are miles away from being the caliber of the Sooners.
Rattler will get his first outing as the Sooners starting quarterback and should be able to toss the rock all over the field to a talented group of wide receivers that includes Charleston Rambo, Theo Wease and Austin Stogner at tight end, among others. The quarterback should be getting target practice against an inferior defense but he and an inexperienced running back group will get much-needed game reps as they prepare for the conference slate.

Prediction: Frankly, this game isn’t going to be close. Even with Petrino at Missouri State, they are a Division II program that won just one game last season and now they’re on the road against a College Football Playoff contender. That’s not going to end well for the Bears.
This is the perfect opportunity for Rattler to get his reps in and get his feet under him as the new quarterback of the vaunted Oklahoma offense. The Sooners should score early, often and for 60 minutes, even when the reserves take the field. With the athleticism on defense being able to handle anything the Bears throw at them, this is going to be a blowout.
Score: Oklahoma 69, Missouri State 3
