Tank for Trevor movement underway with Trevor Lawrence saying 2020 is his final year at Clemson

No, Trevor Lawrence isn’t considering one more year at Clemson.
Lawrence discussed his decision to play in the ACC fall season despite his status as the likely No. 1 overall draft pick come 2021. The Clemson quarterback stated point frank that he’s scheduled to graduate in December, and views this as his last season with the Tigers.
“I just love football. Graduating in December. Planning on this being my last year,” Lawrence said, via ESPN.
Clemson and Dabo Swinney enter the season as the presumptive favorite to win whatever version of the College Football Playoff we get come the end of this strange campaign. 2020 has offered up many unforeseen questions, but who will be the top quarterback prospect taken next April is not one of them.
Tank for Trevor is officially underway in the NFL
It was already a foregone conclusion, but should any NFL team want to try their hand at Lawrence, they ought to lose early and often. Whether intentional or not, the Jacksonville Jaguars already have a leg up on the competition, trading any and all talent on the roster. There’s only so much Gardner Minshew can do.
Yet, as we saw with the Miami Dolphins just last year, don’t underestimate good coaching. The Jags don’t have Brian Flores on the sidelines, though.
Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect the NFL has seen since arguably Andrew Luck. He’s a polished passer and was deemed a future top selection after his freshman season at Clemson. In the years since, he’s only reaffirmed that status, revealing very few weaknesses along the way. Giving Swinney three seasons is more than enough, especially with the landscape around college football encouraging the best players to sit out and prepare for the next level.
Trevor is different, and NFL teams already know that.
