Browns just ran the worst fake punt we’ve ever seen (Video)

The Browns are back to their Browns ways, bringing some level of normalcy to 2020
Yes, 2020 has been a strange year to say the least, but we still have the Browns. Despite winning the offseason yet again, Cleveland is struggling in the first quarter of Kevin Stefanski’s debut. It doesn’t help that his first major coaching decision looked…like this.
Sure, the fake punt itself is enough to make you question Stefanski. Down by one touchdown in just the first quarter, why bank on a gimmick to spearhead a comeback? What makes said play even worse, of course, is the fumble which comes after the fact.
Never change, Cleveland. Stefanski is just getting his feet wet as an NFL head coach, and he was a tremendous offensive coordinator in Minnesota. There’s no reason he should be this inept, and perhaps this is just first game jitters.
What in the world were the Browns thinking?
Fake punts are often the head coach’s call, but often the punter goes rogue and takes it upon himself to override the special teams decision-making. For Jamie Gillan’s case, we hope that is not what occurred.
Starting the season in Baltimore was always a tough task for the Browns. Despite their improvement, there’s a reason the Ravens are AFC North favorites, as they went 14-2 last season and are seen as the only real challenge to the Kansas City Chiefs in the conference.
Overreaction Monday won’t be kind to the Browns, but it’s a long season. These Browns are more talented than they look right now.
