Broncos cornerback A.J. Bouye had to leave the game against the Titans with an injury.

The injury situation for the Denver Broncos went from bad to worse during Monday Night Football as cornerback A.J. Bouye suffered an injury.

While diving to defend a catch on the sideline by Corey Davis, Bouye came down hard on his shoulder. The catch went to review while Bouye went to the locker room.

The Broncos announced that Bouye would be questionable to return with a shoulder injury.

The Broncos have added A.J. Bouye to an already troubling injury list.

Denver’s defense was already hurting without Von Miller, who is out with an ankle injury. Another star player is also missing on offense for the Broncos. Wide receiver Courtland Sutton was held out of the matchup with the Tennessee Titans because of a sprained shoulder.

Without Bouye, Denver was forced to field two rookie cornerbacks in Michael Ojemudia and Essang Bassey. Bassey was targeted immediately for a nine-yard gain by the Titans.

Ryan Tannehill wasn’t able to produce points on the drive. Tennessee moved into field goal range but had their late attempt blocked. The quarterback will certainly look to take advantage of the gap at cornerback in the second half, putting major pressure on some serious youth in the Broncos’ ranks.

Bouye is in his eighth year in the league having spent time with Houston and Jacksonville. He made the Pro Bowl in 2017. The Jaguars traded him to the Broncos this March for a fourth-round pick.

He had been having a solid outing against the Titans before he tweaked his shoulder.

The Broncos and Titans went into halftime deadlocked at 7-7. Both Drew Lock and Tannehill produced touchdowns in the first half while Derrick Henry and Melvin Gordon accounted for 50 and 30 yards, respectively.
