Fantasy Football stars and studs, Week 1
The Green Bay offense kept fantasy football players happy in Week 1.
Week 1 of the NFL season is in the books with several high-scoring games with wild finishes that will have delighted fantasy football managers looking for instant production from their draft picks.
Plenty of the usual suspects started the 2020 season in style. Russell Wilson underlined his MVP credentials right off the bat by unsurprisingly shredding the Atlanta Falcons while several dual-threat quarterbacks also put up significant fantasy points by making the most of their diverse skill sets.
Among the others setting the standard during the Sunday slate were an Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate from 2019 and two members of a Green Bay Packers offense that had its fair share of doubters coming into the season following a much-maligned draft.
Even more surprising were events down in Jacksonville, where the only fans allowed in a stadium saw Philip Rivers outshone by a quarterback many believe is playing his last season for the Jaguars, but should now be on the fantasy radar of owners eyeing a potential fill-in at the position.
Of course, the issue with Week 1 displays is that too often they induce overreactions and it is important for fantasy players to avoid trying to read too much into the opening game of a new season.
But what can be gleaned from some of the most productive showings from Sunday’s action?
Here we look at some of the top performers from the opening week of the season and assess what their displays mean for fantasy players going forward in this campaign.
