2020 stats: 270 yards | 64.7 completion % | 1 TDs | 0 INTs | 7.9 YPA | 75.6 QBR

Last Week: 28

Bridgewater was solid against the Raiders, even in defeat. The normally conservative signal-caller completed eight passes which traveled more than 10 yards in the air, and attempted 15 such throws. This is a great development for Bridgewater and the Panthers.

2020 stats: 363 yards | 78.3 completion % | 1 TDs | 2 INTs | 7.9 YPA | 56.3 QBR

Toughest ranking of the week. Rivers was excellent for much of the game, but his two interceptions were crippling. He’s akin to the starting pitcher who throws seven innings, has six shutout frames, and gives up a grand slam in the other.

2020 stats:Ā 193 yards | 63.9 completion % | 0 TDs | 1 INTs | 5.4 YPA | 20.2 QBR

The film shows a different story than the stats. Yes, the YPA and TD-INT ratio stinks, but Burrow was under constant duress. He ran for a TD and was excellent moving around to keep plays alive. He also drove the Bengals down for a game-tying field goal attempt, only to watch Randy Bullock pull the shank job.

2020 stats: 239 yards | 73.3 completion % | 1 TDs | 0 INTs | 8.0 YPA | 72.6 QBR

Carr was good in the opener. Carolina’s defense is among the league’s worst, but Carr did a nice job of distributing the ball and avoiding mistakes. The main concern with Carr, though, is he doesn’t push the ball. On 30 attempts, only five traveled beyond 10 yards.

2020 stats: 173 yards | 95.0 completion % | 3 TDs | 0 INTs | 8.7 YPA | 73.3 QBR

Minshew moves up a few spots, but doesn’t get the vaulting treatment. Yes, he completed 95 percent of his throws. Yet most all. but five of his 20 attempts were within seven yards of the LOS. That said, two of his touchdowns were beautiful throws deep down the right side. Well done.

2020 stats: 259 yards | 57.6 completion % | 2 TDs | 0 INTs | 7.8 YPA | 35.3 QBR

Garoppolo needs to be better. In Week 1, the 49ers were brutal on third down (2-of-11) against a team with Patrick Peterson, Chandler Jones and little else on defense. San Francisco also had the ball in the final seconds, and Garoppolo’s final pass should have resulted in a new set of downs. Instead, it was late, and knocked away.
