Justin Fields and his teammates are ready to play
Ohio State was one of the more vocal programs pushing to play at some point this fall. The work has paid off as the season is set to begin October 23-24.

The Buckeyes instantly return as a top team in the nation and starting the season in October means Big Ten teams can compete in the College Football Playoff. That explains Chris Olave’s tweet as the receiver hopes for another run at a championship.

Wide receivers coach Brian Hartline even shared his own personal reason why the opener will be special in 2020.

There are two competing sides about the decision to return to play. That is on the university presidents who made the decision. The players and coaches expressed a desire to play in what they deem is a safe environment and are excited to compete.
No words to explain how excited I am to compete again

The Buckeyes have been preparing all year for the 2020 season and now have to wait one more month to play. That isn’t lessening the excitement after it seemed the season was dead.

No way I can get this all in one tweet, but I am so grateful to Coach Day, Gene Smith, President Johnson, Dr. Borchers, and most of all our players and our parents for all of their hard work! #fromthedepthsofdespairtothemountaintop #BIA #FIGHT #WEAREPLAYING

Big Ten football is officially back and now comes figuring out the logistics of the schedule, attendance, and the most important factor of keeping players and coaches safe during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Once again, that is up to those who made the decision. The teams will be preparing for the season and are clearly excited to get back on the field.
