Alabama leads the way with the most selections on the preseason All-SEC teams with 11 while the Florida Gators have a first-team quarterback for the first time in a long time.

The SEC coaches voted on who would make up the three preseason All-SEC football teams. Alabama led the way with 11 players making one of the three teams, followed by Georgia with 10, followed by Florida, LSU and Texas A&M with eight players apiece. SEC coaches couldn’t vote for any of their own players.

There is a good bit of representation league-wide with the Preseason All-SEC Third Team, but we do need to point out a pair of guys of made the Third Team multiple times: Ole Miss Rebels running back Jerrion Ealy makes it a second time as an all-purpose player. Auburn Tigers defensive back Christian Tutt makes it three times, including as an all-purpose player and a return specialist.

Overall, every team is represented at least once on one of these three teams. However, there’s a reason many people are keen on Alabama and Georgia having such great seasons. It’s because they have more good players than the rest of their SEC counterparts. Though they may not meet for a second time in Atlanta in December, they certainly have the players to get them there.
