What to watch for in the Browns-Bengals matchup

The top storyline, at least nationally, is the first matchup between Baker Mayfield and Joe Burrow. Both are No. 1 overall picks and Burrow provided some hope in his debut on Sunday. Mayfield, however, is fighting to prove he is not a bust after a terrible outing against the Ravens.

Injuries are another huge story Thursday night. The Browns have four offensive linemen on the injury report and the Bengals will be without two top defensive tackles, including Geno Atkins. That Bengals news initially meant Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt could run wild, but that may come down to how many Cleveland linemen are healthy.

The play of Odell Beckham Jr. is another top item and will likely be focused on throughout the broadcast. The Browns never fail to provide plenty of drama-filled storylines even so early in a season. They are also facing much more pressure as Cincinnati entered the year with far lower expectations with the rookie quarterback in Burrow.
