Early college football DFS picks September 19: Texas shootout

Early college football DFS picks September 19:
The weird 2020 college football season is again leaving us with just one Friday night game with the postponement of the Memphis-Houston tilt. That means our first college football DFS matchups of week 3 will be on Saturday. We have a 12-game extravaganza during the early games, so it’s worth waiting for!
We have Clemson playing an even worse team than last week. We have Tulsa and Okie State finally getting their game in. Navy heads to Nawlins where there will be some fans. A ranked Louisiana team winds up in Atlanta to take on Georgia State.
If that’s not enough, we have South Florida going to South Bend, Houston and Baylor in a totally offensive game, and the Yellow Jackets trying to oust UCF in their 2020 opener. Charlotte gets to see if they can hang with the ‘Heels, and the cherry on top is Pitt-Syracuse. Do we really miss the Big 14 and Pac 12?
I had a couple of big lineups last weekend that were usurped by late scratches. We really have to watch out for that this year. If you can’t be around before lock to make a quick switch, it’s probably best to sit it out. COVID has changed DFS as well.
Just a few hours after I published this, the UNC-Charlotte tilt was canceled due to positive COVID tests. That leaves our slate at 11 games, but I wasn’t putting much stock into that game anyway.
UPDATE: Now I lost my cover boys, and one entire lineup. Baylor has their third straight opener postponed because of COVID. That also takes the high-scoring Houston-Baylor game off the slate. Now what? We’ll get to that.
The scoring for DraftKings college football is much the same as it is for the NFL with one notable exception: the super flex! That means aside from the flex position which is RB/WR, you can add another player from any position! Want four running backs? Go right ahead! Five wide receivers? Sure! Two quarterbacks? Of course! Just stay under the salary cap!
The super flex replaces the defense, which is essential in college football. This is all about the offense. College football DFS scoring realizes that!
