Lovecraft Country cinematographer Michael Watson chats with Lovecraft Country Chronicles.

Now that we’re halfway through the first season of Lovecraft Country, we’ve come to see that the series goes all-out when it comes to creating visually exciting, beautiful episodes. Granted, some of the blood and gore and monsters might not be all that “beautiful” to look out, but every scene is crafted with lots of care when it comes to putting the show together.

And to find out just how all those scenes come together, we at the Lovecraft Country Chronicles podcast chatted with cinematographer Michael Watson to learn how it all came together. Watson served as the cinematographer for episodes 5-9 on Lovecraft Country. So while we’ve only seen one of his episodes (yet), Watson did tell us what it’s like getting to film scenes for Lovecraft and why he loves it so much. Okay, and maybe there’s a small tease about upcoming episodes, but you’ll just have to listen to find out!

Watson also discussed his favorite moments from episode 5  — like how they pulled off those metamorphosis scenes with Ruby. So if you’d like to compare your favorite scenes with one of Lovecraft Country’s cinematographers (and to get all the behind-the-scenes info on how episodes are made), listen in the links down below to the latest episode of Lovecraft Country Chronicles.
