The New York Yankees pummeled the Toronto Blue Jays this week, and things were no different on Thursday.
Remember when everyone began writing off the New York Yankees after their brutal start to the month? Well, the Bronx Bombers didn’t hear any bell, because they look to be back and better than ever. This week, the Yankees earned redemption against the Toronto Blue Jays with a barrage of home runs. The Yankees did the exact same thing on Thursday evening.
New York entered the bottom of the fourth inning in a 2-2 deadlock with the Blue Jays, which was later broken by Clint Frazier’s RBI single. Then, the monster inside the Yankees awakened, because Brett Gardner, DJ LeMahieu and Luke Voit hit back-to-back-to-back home runs off Toronto starting pitcher Chase Anderson.

History arrives after the three consecutive home runs.
Things didn’t end there, as Giancarlo Stanton and Gleyber Torres joined in on the fun with solo home runs of their own. For the first-time in their franchise’s history, the Yankees recorded five homers in an inning. Additionally, the Yankees set an MLB record of most homers in a three-game span with 18.

This is exactly what the Yankees needed to do this week, especially after what the Blue Jays did to them in their last series. All of their key contributors are healthy and back in the everyday lineup. Luke Voit is leading the American League in home runs with 20. After this game, the Yankees will look to climb up the postseason standings at the expense of the Boston Red Sox.
If you ever wondered why the Yankees are nicknamed the Bronx Bombers, this is why.
