Austin Peay vs Cincinnati: Betting odds, TV channel, live stream, prediction
The Cincinnati Bearcats are hoping to stake a claim as not only the best Group of Five team but as a team worthy of a spot in the College Football Playoff.
If there was ever going to be a year for a member of the Group of Five conferences to make the College Football Playoff, 2020 would be that year. And one of the front runners of the group entering the season are the Cincinnati Bearcats. In 2019, the Bearcats were well on their way to a New Year’s Six Bowl, with two games remaining one being the AAC title game, the Bearcats were 10-1, undefeated in conference play, and their only loss was to Ohio State. But then came the Memphis Tigers.
The Bearcats would close out the regular season with a 34-24 loss to the Tigers, and one week later would lose to the Tigers again, 29-24 in the AAC Championship game. The Bearcats would go on to take out their frustration on Boston College in their bowl game, winning 38 to 6, but enter 2020 with unfinished business from a year ago. And although they are in the AAC, they have the potential of playing two to three ranked games to improve their playoff resume.
Cincinnati kicks off their season with Austin Peay, who after suffering a heartbreaking loss in week one to Central Arkansas, followed it up with a 55-0 loss to Pitt. This is the perfect opponent to start the season with to not iron out the details but to also gain some momentum on both sides of the ball. It is safe to say Cincinnati will have their way in this one.

Prediction: It would take a miracle for Austin Peay to upset the Bearcats on Saturday, as Cincinnati’s offense and defense will be on full display all game long. Desmond Ridder is too much to handle for the Austin Peay defense, as he scores multiple touchdowns in the air and on the ground. Cincinnati’s defense is nearly unbreakable for most of the game as the Bearcats start 2020 with a decisive win.
Score: Cincinnati 59, Austin Peay 9
