This Sunday, the FanDuel/DFS community will be presented with the final round of the 2020 U.S. Open. Let’s take a look at the final round slate from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my FanDuel player selections I want to clearly state that this article is specifically focused on the final round contest. The final round contest is vastly different with regard to scoring than the traditional contest offered by FanDuel for DFS golf.

If you are not familiar with the rules for the final round contest I recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

Here are my FanDuel player selections for the final round of the 2020 U.S. Open!

Xander Schauffele $11,400

Xander arrives at this week’s U.S. Open on the heels of eight consecutive top 25 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a second place result at the Tour Championship two weeks ago.

It should also be noted that in his last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour that Schauffele’s average final round score is 67.

Hideki Matsuyama $10,600

The 28 year old has competed in the last seven U.S. Opens. In those seven events played, Hideki has five top 21 finishes, including a second place result at the 2017 U.S. Open.

Matsuyama is currently ranked 14th in par four scoring average (3.97) and 13th in actual scoring average (69.42) on the PGA Tour.

As of this writing (Friday evening), after two rounds of competitive play at the 2020 U.S. Open, Hideki is tied for seventh with a two round cumulative score of even par.

Patrick Reed $10,000

Reed fired a final round 65 at the Tour Championship two weeks ago en route to an eighth place finish.

When playing final round DFS golf contests, I like to look at key player statistics for the event as it is ongoing. Having stated that, let’s take a look at how Reed is performing in relation to the field. After two rounds of play at the 2020 U.S. Open, in relation to the field, Reed is currently ranked first in strokes gained approach, sixth in strokes gained putting and seventh in strokes gained tee to green.

Louis Oosthuizen $9,300

The 37 year old South African has three top 25 finishes in his last four events on the PGA Tour, including a 13th place result at the Northern Trust last month.

After two rounds of play at the 2020 U.S. Open, in relation to the field, Oosthuizen is currently ranked sixth in strokes gained around the green and 20th in strokes gained tee to green.

Brendon Todd $8,900

The American has four top 20 finishes in his last six events on the PGA Tour, including a 17th place result at the PGA Championship last month.

Through two rounds of competitive play at the 2020 U.S. Open, Todd is currently tied for seventh place with a cumulative two round score of even par.
