The Pittsburgh Steelers look to have a repeat performance this Sunday at the expense of the Denver Broncos.

This Sunday, two teams on the opposite ends of the AFC spectrum face off. The Pittsburgh Steelers, who dominated the New York Giants defensively, face off against the Denver Broncos, who handed the Tennessee Titans a win last Monday due to head coach Vic Fangio’s poor clock management skills.

The game will be held in an empty Heinz Field, as the Steelers won’t be hosting fans for their first two home games due to the ongoing spread of the coronavirus in the United States.

What to watch for in the Steelers-Broncos matchup

The Steelers defensive front had a field day against the Giants’ offensive line last Monday. Pittsburgh sacked Daniel Jones three times and pressured him 26 times on 48 dropbacks, per Mike Renner of Pro Football Focus. Meanwhile, stud running back Saquon Barkley was virtually non-existent, as he rushed for six yards on 15 carries. Pittsburgh’s front-seven should have similar luck against Denver’s offensive line.

One thing Steelers fans will be looking for is if James Conner will receive starter’s snaps against Denver. Conner left the season opener early with an ankle issue, and Benny Snell entered in relief and rushed for 113 yards on 19 carries. Conner will play on Sunday, but it’s unknown if he’ll regain the starters role, or relent the position to Snell.

The Broncos were one of the more hyped-up NFL teams this offseason, mostly due to their roster construction on the offensive side of the ball. However, Denver couldn’t showcase their stars, as receivers Courtland Sutton and KJ Hamler didn’t play in Week 1 due to injury. This week, Sutton is a game-time decision, while Hamler is “expected to play some” against Pittsburgh. If both wideouts can play, that will help alleviate the pressure off rookie Jerry Jeudy and could potentially present themselves as a problem for the Steelers secondary. But, Denver will be without running back Philip Lindsay, who’s been ruled out for Sunday’s game due to a turf toe injury suffered last week.

Defensively, the Broncos will be without star cornerback AJ Bouye, who was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. The Broncos will go with Bryce Callahan and Michael Ojemudia as the starting corners this weekend.
