Devin McCourty pays tribute to James White on pick-six (Video)

Devin McCourty pays tribute to James White with his amazing pick-six.
Devin McCourty honoring his New England Patriots teammate James White is what it’s all about.
White is inactive for the Patriots’ Week 2 game on Sunday Night Football, as he lost his father Tyrone in a car accident earlier in the day. Typically, White is one of the most reliable playmakers on the Patriots offense, but is not in attendance at CenturyLink Field tonight for obvious reasons. No doubt he and his family are on the mind of all of the Patriots’ players and coaches this evening.
This is another example of the power of sports bringing people together.
The Patriots don’t win their three most recent Super Bowls without the elite receiving back. He was sensational for them in their unforgettable come-from-behind victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51. When White was scratched from this game, we knew something was up. Unfortunately, it was the tragic death of his father keeping him from being with his team.
The Seattle Seahawks might be one of the best teams in the NFC this season, but New England is playing for something a little more important tonight. The Patriots are playing for White and his family. If McCourty can give his football brother a pick-six, then Cam Newton and the offense can hold their own against Russell Wilson and the Seahawks Sunday night in prime time.
It will not be easy to beat Seattle in Seattle, but the Patriots are playing for the Whites tonight.
