Mahomes and the Chiefs were quiet for too long against the Los Angeles Chargers. You can only hope to contain the best pound-for-pound quarterback in the NFL for so long, and Mahomes found Tyreek Hill on the best throw of the season so far.

Yes, Mahomes made that decision on the run, calmly chucking the football 50 yards downfield to his speedster, streaking for a touchdown. The Chiefs would later convert the two-point conversion to tie the game, for now.

Were it not for the throw itself, pylon cam would be the best angle of this touchdown. In typical Mahomes fashion, he stole the show.

Kansas City was rather lucky that Tyreek Hill wasn’t flagged for taking his helmet off, as it would have cost the Chiefs yardage on the two-point conversion attempt. In such a close game, every point is imperative.

Anthony Lynn knows how to play this Chiefs team. He’s had the most success out of any head coach in containing Andy Reid’s offense. It doesn’t happen often, but Lynn muddies up their gameplan enough to keep the Chargers in the game for as long as possible. Even with Los Angeles eyeing a rebuild, Los Angeles has a chance. That’s more than most teams can say.
