1. New England Patriots

Can the Patriots ever be ruled out of things like this? New England may even be the preferred destination for Beckham, perhaps only made a stronger internal sentiment by Cam Newton being the quarterback now.

Even as the offense naturally shifts toward using Newton’s running ability, the Patriots still lack proven weapons in the passing game beyond Julian Edelman.

Beckham may struggle to adapt to Bill Belichick and the “Patriot Way” as others of his ilk have (Chad Johnson, Chad “Ocho Cinco” or whatever he was calling himself at that point). But if playing with Newton overrides that and he is revived, in spirit as well as production, New England may strike again on a buy-low

The three years left on Beckham’s contract after 2020 might turn New England away from trading for him. But cutting or trading him would leave behind no dead money in any of those years, and $12.79 million of his 2021 base salary doesn’t become fully guaranteed until March 12 next year. So if it doesn’t work out over whatever’s left of this year after acquiring him, the Patriots can cut ties without any further ramifications.
