What are five bold fantasy football predictions for Week 3 of the NFL season?

Each week, FanSided offers five bold predictions pertaining to your fantasy football matchups. This is the third edition of a series that will accompany you deep into your fantasy postseason travels.

Generally speaking, these prognostications are assessed from a 10-team, PPR league perspective. Most of the time, the assertions will apply to all aspects of fantasy football. If some sleepers are honorably mentioned, don’t be upset that the player is considered a sleeper when he may be the best option you have to plug-and-play. Not all leagues abide by the traditional 10-man format, and some leagues are even more exciting when they’re out-of-the-norm leagues.

For full disclosure, let’s hold ourselves accountable from last week:

  1. Dak Prescott is a Top 3 Fantasy quarterback in Week 2. Emphatically correct. Prescott was the NFL’s top quarterback via fantasy points against the Falcons in a raucous game.
  2. The 49ers Defense has its way with the Jets and is the top unit the business fantasy-wise. Incorrect. San Francisco’s defense held the Jets to 13 total points, but the unit was not fantasy gold.
  3. C.J. Uzomah emerges as a sleeperCorrect. Uzomah registered just over 10 PPR points and was lost for the season due to injury. Bittersweet, indeed.
  4. Adam Thielen is heavily targeted and individually demolishes the ColtsHalf-correct. Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins targeted Thielen with tunnel vision, but this only resulted in 3 fantasy points.
  5. Christian McCaffrey won’t be a total bust, but Christian McCaffrey will appear human. Correct. The Panthers star “only” tallied 20 fantasy points and will now miss a couple of months due to injury.

We were about 60%-70% accurate in Week 2.

On to Week 3. Here are five relatively brazen predictions that are associated with Week 3 only. Not all of these projections will be accurate all of the time. Fantasy football dealings are topsy-turvy. Overall, though, let this season-long series serve as a pocketbook to your fantasy strategy.
