3. The Chargers defense has no problems with Carolina and is a Top 3 fantasy defense in Week 3
The Carolina Panthers were not on a profitable trajectory from a wins standpoint with Christian McCaffrey healthy and in the lineup. It’s severely unlikely that they will improve in his absence. The stud Panthers halfback is out for at least one month, so it’s back to the drawing board for head coach Matt Rhule, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, and the Carolina Panthers.
In Week 3, the Panthers will travel to the Los Angeles Chargers new palace for a late afternoon tryst. Bridgewater will begin life without McCaffrey, and running back Mike Davis figures to soak up most of the rushing attempts. The 27-year-old Bridgewater was responsible for three turnovers on his own, and Carolina succumbed to an angry Buccaneers squad, 31-17.
On the other hand, the Chargers largely kept Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in check (to the degree that is possible). Los Angeles was a missed field goal away from upsetting the Chiefs in quarterback Justin Herbert’s first-ever game.
This week, the defensive playmakers for the Chargers will rattle Bridgewater and coerce him to turn the ball over as he did last Sunday. Los Angeles coach Anthony Lynn has all facets of his team appearing more formidable than was forecasted by pundits a mere three weeks ago.
Plop Los Angeles into your lineup and reap the benefits of the turnovers. No McCaffrey is a bonus to this recommendation.
