Florida safety Shawn Davis was ejected for targeting in the first quarter vs. Ole Miss and delivered an NSFW reaction via Twitter a few moments later to express his displeasure.
You know college football is officially back when SEC officials flex their muscles. Early in the first quarter of the Ole Miss-Florida game, defensive back Shawn Davis was ejected for targeting after his helmet-to-helmet hit on Dontario Drummond.
While the debate over what is targeting and what is not targeting has been argued ever since the advent of the rule and the automatic ejection, this one seemed fairly cut and dry.
Florida defensive back Shawn Davis had a strong reaction to being ejected for targeting for his hit on an Ole Miss receiver
Davis, however, disagreed with the call on the field, calling it “BS” on Twitter.
THATS A BS CALL !!!!!!!!😞

You be the judge. Is this targeting?

Davis is one of six returning defensive starters on a Florida defense that’s one of the best in the SEC and one of the best in the nation. He had 51 tackles last season but now his debut was cut short before he could really even get warmed up.
Because he was ejected so soon in the game, he won’t be subject to missing any part of the next game, so he’ll be available to start.
However, the Gators are short-handed without Davis as they battle Lane Kiffin’s Rebels in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
Florida leads Ole Miss, 28-14 at halftime. You can watch the game on ESPN.
