NFL DFS Bargain Bin: Week 3 Sunday Slates Wide Receivers

Terry McLaurin, WAS at CLE ($5,900-DK/$6,700-FD)

In line with what was detailed in Haskins’ entry earlier, McLaurin shapes up as a very appealing cost-savings piece to pair with the WFT QB in a lineup where you opt to save at QB and one WR spot. The second-year wideout has had a great rapport with Haskins from the start, and the duo has gotten this season off to a strong start. McLaurin has already logged 17 targets through two games, bringing in 12 of them for 186 yards and a touchdown. As noted in Haskins’ entry, the Browns could force Washington to go a bit pass-heavy in this spot, and Cleveland has yielded the seventh-most FD points per game  (35.6) and a 62.5 percent catch rate to WRs over the first two weeks.

Darius Slayton, NYG vs. SF ($4,900-DK/$5,500- FD)

We’d normally classify Slayton as being in a tough matchup based on opponent, but this is a much different 49ers team than one at full health. San Francisco’s avalanche of injuries has been well documented, and as it relates to Slayton, the most directly relevant may well be those of cornerbacks Richard Sherman (IR-calf) and Ahkelllo Witherspoon (Questionable-hamstring). However, the season-ending knee injuries suffered by Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas in Week 2 certainly stand to benefit Slayton greatly by likely giving QB Daniel Jones appreciably more time to find Slayton on some downfield routes. As it is, with those two players available for one-plus games, the Niners are ranked in the bottom half of the league with 31.8 FD points per game yielded to WRs, along with a 75.0 percent catch rate on the 52 targets they’ve allowed to wideouts.

Adam Humphries, TEN at MIN ($3,900-DK/ $4,600-FD)

Humphries’ price is worthy of a double take, as the veteran possession receiver has already logged 13 targets through the first two games of the season, bringing in 11 of them, including one for a TD. The Titans will once again be without A.J. Brown (knee) for Week 3, which will leave Humphries in good position for another solid workload versus a Vikings defense that’s surrendering the second-most FD points per contst (44.8) to receivers through the first two games, along with the most touchdowns (five) to the position. While Humphries’ targets do tend to be relatively close to the line of scrimmage — thereby capping his overall upside — his rock-bottom prices and the opportunity he has with Brown out make him worthy of consideration.
