Texas football pulled off a 15-point comeback to beat Texas Tech in overtime and prove all of Twitter wrong in the process.
Texas Tech was up 56-41 with less than three minutes left against Texas and it looked like the Longhorns would be the second top-10 team in the Big 12 to be upset today, following Oklahoma’s upset loss at the hands of Kansas State.
But then Texas mounted a furious comeback, scoring 15 points in the last 2:39, including the game-tying two-point conversion with 40 seconds remaining.
Sam Ehlinger connected with Brennan Eagles on the touchdown to draw within eight then hit him on the two-pointer after Joshua Moore hauled in the touchdown reception.
We were headed to overtime where Texas quickly put away the Red Raiders with another Ehlinger to Moore touchdown and a turnover on downs from Texas Tech on the ensuing possession.
Texas had survived, but plenty of Twitter accounts are now going to find themselves being retweeted by Old Take Exposed after leaving Texas for dead.

Former Texas Tech quarterback and reigning Super Bowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes, was guilty and outed himself for his premature celebration.

The rest of college football media couldn’t escape the wrath as Texas got the last laugh.

I think at this point it's fair to say Texas is in the danger zone today.

The last time Texas and Oklahoma lost on the same day was when OU lost to Kansas State and Texas lost to TCU on Oct. 26 last season.

Texas improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the Big 12 and holds a one-game lead over Oklahoma, so there’s extra incentive to have a big celebration tonight for Tom Herman‘s team who avoided the upset.
