Lightning vs. Stars NHL live stream reddit for Game 6 of Stanley Cup Final
By Scott Rogust
The Stanley Cup could be handed out on Monday night, as the Lightning look to close out the series against the Stars.
This Monday night, the Stanley Cup is inside Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and the Tampa Bay Lightning are looking to hoist the trophy. But they’ll have to hold off the pesky Dallas Stars, whom are looking to push the Stanley Cup Final to Game 7.
This past Saturday, Tampa Bay were about eight minutes away from clinching their second Stanley Cup in franchise history, but their 2-1 lead diminished after veteran Joe Pavelski put the puck past goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy in the third period. Game 5 reached two overtimes, and the Lightning looked to be in full control over the seemingly exhausted Stars. That changed, as former Anaheim Duck Corey Perry took a deflected slap shot from John Klingberg and knocked it past Vasilevskiy to send the final to Game 6. That’s right, two longtime Pacific Division mainstays helped Dallas force a Game 6.
Tampa Bay will be without Steven Stamkos for the remainder of the series. However, they still have the likes of Nikita Kucherov, Ondrej Palat and Brayden Point picking up the slack, as they enter Monday’s pivotal contest on four-game point streaks. If they can continue to put up points, the path to lifting Lord Stanley’s Cup becomes much easier.
However, the Stars have a determined Anton Khudobin in net. Yes, the Lightning have scored five goals on the former journeyman goalie this series, but he was lights out in Game 5. Khudobin allowed two goals on 41 shots in Dallas’ double overtime victory. But the Stars’ forwards need to provide Khudobin with some goals, because a goalie can only stop so many shots, no matter how good they are.
