David Pollack slams Oklahoma after Kansas State loss: ‘Death, taxes, OU defense stinks’
David Pollack didn’t hold back with his comments on Oklahoma’s loss to Kansas State, totally slamming the defense for its performance.
Oklahoma Sooners fans are still fuming after the team inexplicably blew it against Kansas State and suffered a shocking 38-35 defeat to the Wildcats. Oklahoma was up 35-21 heading into the fourth quarter but was outscored 17-0 in the final session.
It goes without saying, but the defense had a day to forget in the loss. Georgia legend David Pollack, now with ESPN, didn’t hold back going after the Oklahoma defense, ripping them to pieces for their performance.
Oklahoma’s loss to Kansas State is one that will haunt the defense for a while
“Death, taxes, OU defense stinks,” Pollack said via Monday’s episode of the CFB Podcast with Herbie, Pollack & Neghandi 247Sports. “These are things that come to fruition every single year. Here’s the thing, zero points in the fourth quarter for OU’s offense. We can lay this at the feet of the defense, but you can’t get outscored to end the game, 20-0. You can’t. You can’t do that. You have to be able to answer the bell.”
Pollack didn’t hold back and it’s hard to blame the former defensive star for having this kind of a reaction. Oklahoma suffered the biggest upset loss thus far in the 2020 college football season.
In that game, Spencer Rattler was up and down throughout the contest, throwing for 387 yards and four touchdowns, but also showing his youth with three interceptions, including one in the closing seconds with the Sooners trying to mount a comeback. Defensively, Oklahoma let Kansas State’s Skylar Thompson throw for 334 yards and a touchdown, while he also rushed for three scores.
It was a nightmare result for the Sooners, and Pollack has no problem letting them know how big of an embarrassment that loss was.
