6. Tennessee Titans
The Titans are 3-0 and have an impending Week 4 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, some positive COVID-19 tests could push that game back. That all remains to be seen.
The Titans are another 3-0 team without one dominant victory. The largest margin of victory came in Week 2 in a 33-30 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. But a win is a win and this start is great news after the team jumped out to a rough 2-4 start in 2019. The final result was still the AFC Championship Game, but it was a tough road to get there.
Derrick Henry is already over 300 yards on the season and Ryan Tannehill is averaging over 281 yards per game. The problem has been the defense allowing 30 points in back-to-back games. Those were against the Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings, respectively. The Steelers are much better than both of those teams so the Titans will have a shot to prove they are true contenders if the game is indeed played.
5. Pittsburgh Steelers
All the talk about Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield, and Joe Burrow has resulted in the Steelers sitting atop the AFC North through three games. Ben Roethlisberger has some lucky numbers with 777 passing yards and seven touchdowns, while James Conner has battled through injuries to provide legitimate support in the backfield.
The team’s first test came in Week 3 against the Houston Texans. The defense held Deshaun Watson to 264 passing yards and David Johnson, the crown jewel of the DeAndre Hopkins trade, had 23 yards on 13 carries.
Roethlisberger looks like his normal self and JuJu Smith-Schuster is playing like a number one receiver. And even if Conner isn’t healthy, Benny Snell has proven to be a worthy back in his place. Like with several other teams on this list, the Steelers are still waiting for a signature win and a game against the Titans provides that opportunity.
