Trevor Lawrence responds to all the Tank for Trevor tweets
By Mike Luciano
Clemson Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence is aware of all your Tank for Trevor tweets but is paying them no mind as he tries to win another national championship.
If your favorite NFL team gets the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and is in need of a quarterback, they will use that pick on Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. If they don’t have a hole at quarterback, they will almost assuredly get rid of their current quarterback to create a Lawrence-sized hole on their roster. Despite the immense pressure he is carrying as he tries to make his name in the pros, Lawrence finds the media frenzy surrounding him kind of funny.
Lawrence admits the whole “Tank for Trevor” stuff is funny to him and it is odd to see his name trending on Twitter during a bad game for (insert losing NFL team here). While he didn’t give a preference on what team he would like to play for, the Georgia native did mention he used to root for the Atlanta Falcons.
Does Trevor Lawrence want to play for the Atlanta Falcons?
Given his statistical production, ability to consistently win and dominate in the ACC, and bazooka of a right arm, Lawrence is viewed by many as the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck. After completing 30 of his 37 passes for 519 yards and four touchdowns in his first two games of the season, Lawrence has continued to get the worst teams in the league, even more, intrigued.
The Falcons could easily be 2-1 right now, but they blew two double-digit leads in the fourth quarter against the Cowboys and Bears. With Dan Quinn on the chopping block and Matt Ryan turning 36 next year, the time could be right for Atlanta to offload Ryan’s contract and usher in a new era.
Lawrence might seem indifferent to where he starts his pro career, but Atlanta could be a very fruitful opportunity for him if Quinn continues to lose games like he has been losing them.
