Carlos Correa has message for the haters after Astros defeat Twins (Video)

Carlos Correa has a message for all the Houston Astros haters in the world.

Carlos Correa doesn’t care if you hate the Houston Astros because they’re still winning.

After sweeping the beyond pitiful Minnesota Twins, who have zero idea how to win a single postseason game, the Astros will face the winner of Game 3 between the Chicago White Sox and the Oakland Athletics in the 2020 ALDS in neutral-site Dodger Stadium. Regardless of how you feel about the trash can scandal, Correa doesn’t care if you hate his team because they just win.

Will either the A’s or the White Sox put an end to the Astros in the ALDS?

“I know a lot of people are mad,” said Correa. “I know a lot of people don’t want to see us here, but what are the gonna say now? We’re a solid team, we play great baseball, we won a series on the road in Minnesota. So what are they gonna say now?”

While we do have to give the Astros credit for coming out and executing at a high level on Tuesday and Wednesday, no team does a better job of beating itself in the postseason than the Twins. Usually, it is the New York Yankees who kick their teeth in, but this week, it was the defending AL champions. It was not an easy season for the Astros, but they’re right where they want to be.

As for whether the A’s or the White Sox can beat them in the ALDS, that remains to be seen. Like Minnesota, the A’s have their own postseason futility going against them, especially in the Moneyball era. As for the White Sox, they might be able to do it, but this is a team that just ended a major postseason drought by arriving seemingly a year ahead of schedule into this postseason.

Though this may not be anywhere near the same Astros team that won the AL pennant a season ago, they are certainly capable of getting to the ALCS and playing for the right to go to the World Series. The best-of-five series between the Astros and either the A’s or White Sox in Los Angeles could be an intense one, especially if the division rival A’s are the one to advance to the ALDS.

It’s all about survive and advance in the Wild Card round, and Correa’s Astros did just that.
