The No. 7 seed White Sox are looking to pull off the upset against an Athletics franchise that has struggled to find postseason success over the last decade. However, the A’s have enough depth in their lineup to win Game 2 and set up a do-or-die Gane 3.

After Giolito shut the A’s down yesterday, the White Sox will start veteran left-hander and former AL Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel, who has plenty of experience pitching against the A’s going back to his days with the Houston Astros. The soft-tossing southpaw has returned to elite form in 2020, throwing up a sparkling 1.99 ERA. With the A’s searching for answers on offense without Matt Chapman, this could get ugly.

Oakland will counter with former White Sox pitcher Chris Bassitt, who has made the jump from solid to elite this season. In 11 starts, Bassitt went 5-2 with a 2.29 ERA this season while leading this team in WAR with 2.1. Bassitt’s numbers are up there with the best in the American League, but he will need to prove that he can shut down one of the league’s best lineups when losing this game means the season is over.
