Buffalo Bills (3-0) at Las Vegas Raiders (2-1), 4:25 pm
Bills: A year ago, only two teams in the league allowed fewer total yards per game and only three clubs permitted fewer yards through the air. But Sean McDermott’s defense has been a mixed bag this season and the Bills wound up giving up a 28-3 lead at home to the Rams before winning. Buffalo has allowed 77 points, 61 in the second half.
Raiders: Las Vegas’ defense was pushed around by the ground attack of the New England Patriots last Sunday as Paul Guenther’s unit was hit up for 250 yards rushing. That means the Silver and Black have allowed teams to run for 163.7 yards per game – fifth-worst in the league. And the Raiders have allowed nine offensive TDs, six rushing.
New England Patriots (2-1) at Kansas City Chiefs (3-0), 4:25 pm
Patriots: Keeping the ball away from Patrick Mahomes would be ideal, especially since Bill Belichick’s defense hasn’t been nearly as stingy when it comes to stifling opposing quarterbacks. A season ago, the Pats allowed an NFL-low 13 scores through the air. Three games into 2020, New England has already surrendered seven TD passes.
Chiefs: Win or lose, the team under head coach Andy Reid have put their share of points on the board against Bill Belichick’s squad in recent years. Dating back to 2014, the clubs have met a total of six times (including playoffs) and the teams have each won three meetings. And Kansas City has averaged an impressive 32.8 points per game.
