Jordan Travis is the answer at QB for Florida State after leading comeback
Jordan Travis saved Florida State from losing to Jacksonville State. He’s the future.
When Jordan Travis entered the game at quarterback for Florida State on Saturday, his team trailed FCS Jacksonville State, 14-0.
He led five straight touchdown drives to deliver the Seminoles from the jaws of another embarrassing defeat.
Which begs the question: Why wasn’t he starting earlier?
After throwing for 210 yards and a touchdown on 12-of-17 passing with 48 yards and a touchdown on the ground, there should be no debate over who is the starter going forward.
Jordan Travis is the answer for Florida State
Travis wasn’t alone in leading Florida State to victory. He had help from Lawrance Toafili, Jashuan Corbin and La’Damian Webb, who found their groove on the ground with four rushing touchdowns between them. The defense also came to life in the second half.
It’s clear, however, that Travis was the spark the Seminoles so desperately needed this season. The team didn’t look fit to take on FCS competition after losing narrowly to Georgia Tech and being crushed by Miami in their first two games. Then Travis arrived and flipped the script.
Florida’s first four drives averaged just three yards per play. Travis came in and the offense opened up with 9.1 yards per play, according to Brendan Sonnone of Noles 247.
It’s amazing what a bit of confidence in a quarterback can do for a team.

Travis’ legend could only grow if he manages to navigate the next two games as the starter. Next up, the Seminoles will take on No. 5 Notre Dame. They’ll follow that up by welcoming North Carolina to Tallahassee.
No pressure Travis. None at all.
